DC Knox Club
Talk and Reception
November 22, 2013, is the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, a signature moment of the 20th century. JFK remains one of the most fascinating political figures in American history. But before he was a charismatic president and a celebrated icon, he was a junior United States Senator from Massachusetts.
John "Jack" Shaw '79 has just written JFK in the Senate, a book about JFK's often misunderstood eight years in the Senate in which he transformed himself from a lowly backbencher into a compelling senator and successful presidential candidate.
Jack will discuss JFK's career in the Senate and outline what current senators running for president might learn from Kennedy's example.
Following the talk and Q & A, catch up with Knox friends at a cocktail and hors d'oeuvres reception.
Cost is $25 per person for hors d'oeuvres reception. Cash bar available.
